Today is Sarah's Aqiqah Day, which was held at my parents-in-law's house in Kampung Bahagia, Teluk Intan. She is now Day 5 of life. The day before her Aqiqah Day, my family came over from Parit Buntar to help with the preparation. They stayed overnight at a homestay nearby. A few relatives from my wife's side also came over to help. The decoration & the doorgifts were superb.
The event started around 10.00am today. It was started with the Marhaban group reciting & singing. Then, when selawat Nabi was recited, Sarah was put slowly in the cradle by me for a while. After that, she was lifted up & was carried in circle so that everyone will have a chance to cut a small flock of her hair. Then, she was put back in the cradle until the reciting & singing finished. The event lasted for about one hour and half. It went well & Sarah didn't even cry. She was sleeping quietly the whole time throughout the event. Good job Sarah!! My wife, Intan already breastfed her earlier. Heheh. Her head was not shaved today as her belly button cord was still intact & haven't fallen off yet.
After the event had finished, everyone went to have their lunch at the tent outside. The menu includes rice, mutton, satay, chicken, and many more. A lot of guests came. Thank God the food was just enough. Heheh. The last guest left at around 3.00pm. Alhamdulillah. Thanks to my parents-in-law for organising this event. It was indeed a successful one. Thank you to my family & those relatives who helped with the preparation. And thank you to the Marhaban Group & to all guests who managed to come to make my daughter's Aqiqah Day more happening & more meaningful. :)
